A Series of paintings inspired by the beautiful landscape of the Northern rivers hinterland on Bundjalung country.

The Miniature gouache painting series will be available through the Bangalow heritage house museum from July onwards, including framed photo prints and cards.

A series of work from my time living by the wetland and estuary in northern nsw.  Using mixed media on paper, canvas and board,  I respond with my materials to the ever changing primal beauty of this landscape.  I use a combination of free forming random marks using, brushes, feathers and found objects combined with direct painting methods. I want to create an impression of how the landscape affects me and evokes feelings of connection to this place. Letting my memory and imagination direct the painting.

On a journey back to Scotland where I was born,  I spent time on the island of Mull and Ulva. These works arose from my explorations of the beauty and harshness of the landscape containing the remnants of a history which told a story of a population removed from their land and way of life.
