I spent my early years in Sydney, but
not being a city person I headed north moving to the north coast in 1981.

This is where my inspiration and subject matter for a lot of my work has been centred. I have developed a few different strains in my work. Figures in the landscape have developed in an organic manner. These have carried over into figures in ceramics focusing on the line in the form.

My other work comes from the subject matter of interiors and still life. I try to capture the atmosphere of an interior space, still life can tell a story, and it’s the relationship between these objects in an interior space that interests me. I also like to place an outside scene within some works setting up a contrast between within and the outer world.

There are many artists that I have been influenced by such as Margaret Olley, Morandi, Brett Whiteley, Margaret Preston, Henry Moore, Gultav Klimt, William Robinson, Franz Marc, Degas, Vasily Kandinsky, Max Ernst etc…...
